Standard Christening Sample Contract

This Agreement was made on (Date), between [Client], and Rev. Chrissy Ball [Referred to as Officiant] for officiating the Christening of (Child/Property/Client) on (Date) with Officiant arriving at (Time) at (Location).

Notice - Christenings, whether for yourself, your child, or your property, must be booked no later than 30 Days before the Ceremony. An initial consultation will be conducted before booking this event.

Retainer - A non-refundable initial retainer of $150 of total cost $___ must be paid no later than 10 days after booking. For your convenience, Payment to the Officiant will be collected through the Acuity Scheduling Page.

Contracted Package - Includes the Retainer of $150, hourly rate of $25/hr, any Discounts provided by the Officiant, and all Services described in the Selected Package Details. Any additional Services/Products requested by the Client incurred by the Officiant will be billed directly to the Client at cost.

Final Payment - Final Payments should be made directly to the Officiant. In order to expedite processes on the day of the Ceremony, it is expected that Final Payment should be furnished to the Officiant no later than 15 days prior to the start of the Ceremony. For your convenience, Payment to the Officiant will be collected through Square Invoice. Any Payment made on this Invoice will serve as a Signature to this Contract and is to be considered a Binding Agreement to the Terms as set forth during the Initial Consultation and documented in this Contract.

Provided Documentation - All Documentation created and provided to the Client is owned by the Officiant and cannot be used or given to any other 3rd party.

Travel Accommodations - For all Events taking place further than 50 miles (one way) from Officiant's place of residence, Travel Fees of $1.00 per mile will be incurred for all mileage round-trip to cover extra travel and time. In the event that the Ceremony is held more than 100 miles from the Officiant’s place of residence or takes place over the course of multiple days, the Event will be considered a Destination Event, and additional Reasonable Accommodations (Hotel, Food, Etc.) will be furnished by The Client. This would be made known prior to the preparation of this proposal.

Parking/Valet Fees  - Parking or Valet fees greater than $5 will be covered by The Client. The Client may choose to make arrangements to cover costs directly with the Venue/Valet Service or pay a flat Parking Fee of $25 to the Officiant along with the Final Payment.

Accommodations  - If expected to stay for the Reception at an Event lasting longer than 4 hours, the Officiant will receive the same Accommodations as any other Guest, including a Seat, Plate of Food, and a Slice of Cake (if applicable).

Attire - Unless specified otherwise by the Client, the Officiant will dress in whatever attire they deem fit.

Liability - It is understood that Rev. Chrissy Ball is only liable for the services completed and provided by herself, and she cannot be held liable for the services of other Contracted Vendors. It is understood that Rev. Chrissy Ball shall not be held liable for consequential damages of any kind. The Client agrees that in all circumstances, Rev. Chrissy Ball’s liability shall be exclusively limited to an amount equal to the performance fee and that Rev. Chrissy Ball shall not be liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from any breach of Contract.

Cancellation/Postponement Policy - If the Event is canceled or the Officiant's services are no longer required, no portion of the fees paid to the Officiant will be returned. If notice of cancellation is given less than 15 days before the Event Date, Final Payment will be required to compensate for hours of service already rendered and loss of Event Date. If the Event is postponed, Services Contracted can be applied to a new date if available.

Responsibility - The Officiant is not responsible for Acts Of God, Natural Disasters, an Act Of Government such as A Declaration of National or Local Emergency, or Other Incidents Not within the control of the Officiant, i.e. accident, death in the family, illness, pregnancy, or sudden tragic circumstance. Then and only then shall reimbursement be considered.

Overtime - Additional unplanned and/or un-Contracted services (such as, but not limited to, full redo of design, day of Christening extension of time, services outside the scope of the Agreement, management of non- Christening day activities, etc) are considered overtime and will be billed with prior notification and consent at the rate of $30 per hour. The Officiant agrees to arrive at the location listed on the Contract at the agreed time, barring unforeseen legitimate issues beyond their control (i.e. Traffic, Inclement Weather, Car Trouble, etc). The Client understands that they must adhere to the agreed-upon Ceremony start time. The Officiant does understand that Christening days do not always go as planned and will accommodate for Christenings that start later than scheduled, as time permits. The Officiant will allow for a 1.5 hour block of time per Christening to give plenty of time for unexpected delays. This block of time begins at the Officiant’s scheduled arrival time. If extended time is needed beyond the aforementioned block AND the Contracted Officiant is available and agrees to stay, Client agrees to pay Officiant compensation of $30 per additional hour, which will be added to a Separate Itemized Invoice of all additional fees.

Rehearsals - If the Client wishes to have the Officiant attend a Christening rehearsal, it needs to be explicitly added to the package, and an additional one-time fee of $30 will apply.

Ceremony Items - If the Ceremony includes any special features, the Client is responsible for furnishing all necessary equipment including tables and/or linens. Ceremony tools (i.e. candles, jars, sand, etc.) may be purchased from the Officiant up to 15 days prior to the Ceremony.

Contracted Vendor and Payments - Any rentals and/or subcontracted vendors Contracted on behalf of the Client will be paid to the individual vendor, and never to the Officiant.

Media Release - The Officiant has a right to any and all photos/videos in which they are depicted taken during the Rehearsal, Ceremony, and Reception. The Officiant may request these images from The Client or directly from the Photographer. These images will be used on the website: https://lechatclairvoyant.wixsite.com/officiantservices

Damage or Loss of Accessories - The Client agrees to exercise all due care in caring for and preserving the property of the Officiant. Clients shall remain responsible for all loss or damage to rentals, up to and including actual replacement value for each missing or damaged item per cost.

Payment Schedule and Method - For your convenience, Payment to the Officiant will be collected through Square Invoice. Any Payment made on this Invoice will serve as a Signature to this Contract and is to be considered a Binding Agreement to the Terms as set forth during the Initial Consultation and documented in this Contract.
